African Group of Negotiators Experts Support is an African expert organization that bridges evidence and policy in climate change processes. Agostino Goretti, Ph.D. in Structural Engineering, is a senior disaster risk management expert working part-time at the Italian Civil Protection Department. In the early stages of his professional career, he was involved in all phases of seismic risk management at both national and local levels. He subsequently expanded his interests and skills to adopt a multi-hazard integrated approach, including the effects of climate change and the development of resilient infrastructure. Over the past years, he has been managing large national and regional technical assistance projects on disaster risk management in the Balkans, North Africa, the Middle East, and Asia.
