Dr. Bowen Banda is a climate change and disaster risk reduction expert with more than 20 years of combined experience in climate change, DRR, policy advocacy and resilience planning. His work focuses on mainstreaming climate adaptation, mitigation, loss and damage and DRR into development planning, particularly at local government level. He also brings experience in ecosystem-based adaptation, climate and disaster risk assessment, safeguards, community resilience and policy research in Zambia and South Africa.

Through locally led approaches, evidence generation, policy engagement and capacity-building, CARE Zambia supports vulnerable communities to better anticipate, respond to and recover from climate-related impacts.

The Caribbean Community Climate Change Centre coordinates the Caribbean region’s response to climate change, working on effective solutions and projects to combat the environmental impacts of climate change and global warming. It provides climate change-related policy advice and guidelines to the Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Member States through the CARICOM Secretariat and to the UK Caribbean Overseas Territories and is archive and clearing house for regional climate change data and documentation.

ICCASA brings specific expertise on vulnerable communities in Kenya and supports the participation of women, persons with disabilities, youth and local communities in climate action.
