GiveDirectly (GD) aims to reshape international giving – and millions of lives – by providing cash grants directly to the world’s poorest. GD has raised over $1B since launching in 2011, and delivered cash to more than 1.6 million people in 15 different countries. We’ve also supported large-scale, experimental research that indicates strong recipient impact of our programs. We know that climate change is affecting people in poverty the most, although they’ve contributed the least. We know that cash transfers can play a critical role in helping people living in poverty cope and adapt.

The Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR) is the largest international network of CSOs working to strengthen resilience and reduce risk in communities worldwide. GNDR works with local actors for a better understanding of their environment and the identification of key actions to mitigate their exposure.

Golam Rabbani is a climate change specialist with over 22 years of experience in adaptation and loss and damage. He has led and contributed to early L&D and adaptation assessments and helped shape Bangladesh’s National Adaptation Programmes of Action, the adaptation chapter of the Third National Communication, and the National Adaptation Plan. He currently heads the Climate Bridge Fund Secretariat, hosted by BRAC in Dhaka, supporting the design, implementation and monitoring of urban projects for climate migrants and vulnerable groups.
