She has also been selected to serve as a Lead Author for Chapter 1 (Point of departure, framing and key concepts) of WG II's contribution to IPCC AR7.

Muhammad Rafiq is a climate finance and policy advisor specializing in climate governance, climate finance instruments, and the economic valuation of environmental and ecosystem resources. He supports governments in designing and operationalizing climate finance mechanisms, mobilizing public and private finance, and integrating economic and environmental assessments into adaptation, resilience, and loss and damage strategies. He holds a PhD and currently serves as a member of the Climate Finance team of the Government of Pakistan. He has also served as an advisor to a Board Member of the FRLD and contributed to initiatives under the Global Shield against Climate Risks.
